A not just Ok list.

When i came across the link "top 10 gifted rappers in Nigeria", I knew something was amiss somewhere. The term "gifted" is used rather loosely and is subject to copious interpretations. if they had said most commercially viable, most lyrical or highest selling rappers it would have made more sense.
In rap culture when you talk of classifying rappers the criteria usually includes: rhyming skills, lyrical depth, delivery (flow) and consistency. We don't judge rappers skills based on commercial appeal or sing song ability. This is why rappers like Nas, Rakim, Jay Z, Eminem are rated highly, they have delivered lyrically consistently over a long period of time. Canibus is a good rapper but has not been consistent.
Based on this criteria, Olamide and Phyno have no business being no 2 and 3 respectively. Also Phenom, Terry da Rapman, Illbliss and Pheroshuz desrve to be on it.
Modenine is undoubtably the dopest mcess in Nigeria, this he has proved over and over but Phenom has dropped some of the dopest punchlines in Nigeria over the last two years. A testimony to his skill is how that he murderd M.I on 6ft 7ft on M.I's I.M2. He has shown excellent delivery and sharp rhyming on tracks like Omo Naija (original and remix), Kilon fo oshi remix. Murda dem with wizkid to name a few. How he doesn't make the list is a mystery. Vector, Illbliss and Terry the rapman ahve dropped some of the madest mixtapes this year, yet Vector is rated 8th while Terry and Illi didnt even make the list. Outrageous! How did show dem camp and reminisce make the top 10?
The NJO list is a mockery of the rap culture and an expression of lack of proper research by the team that compiled it. Pheroshuz is another conspicuously missing mcee on the list. that brother is badly under0rated in the rap game.He is major player in the bans movement and his blood, sweet and tears mixtape redefined the art of sampling. He and Terry Killed the No church in the jungle track on Modenine's occupy the throne mixtape. Vector's ba racks mixtape was also a banging hit, if you doubt click here.
the list also does not make provisions for female rappers abi na only guys dey gifted? A belive Zee can hold her own lyrically against most of the rappers mention on the list
After all is said and done this the list is not just ok.
